Wow, over a year

Well, it's been an unfortunate year, but I've finally started painting again :) I recently rented out a studio space up at the Oxford Community Art Center, so that has certainly helped push me in the right direction. I'll post some pictures as soon as I've painted it. Did you know the best color to paint a studio is a greenish-gray? It's true, I did some research on it. Apparently it contrasts nicely with warmer skin tones and provides  a great neutral to other paintings.

In other news...I just finished the Hunger Games series. I've been working on some sketches of the main characters, so I'll post those too. I'm excited for the movie :) hopefully it doesn't disappoint

In Cleveland!

It's time for the Cleveland By Hand Art Show! After a solid month of painting and planning, I'm finally here. I would like to thank Joe for helping me with all the logistics of the show (booking the hotel, finding an automobile big enough to transport everything, keeping me sane....) It's going to be a fun weekend!

Website

Well, the new website is up and running! I'm quite pleased with it. Also, I'm currently writing a more detailed artist statement, so look for that in the upcoming week.

Here are a  few pictures of what my future booth will look like at art festivals. I purchased the panels earlier this summer because I wanted my booth space to appear very professional and clean. Hopefully it appears this way...

New Website

I am currently in the process of designing a new website through Other People's Pixels (OPP), a website host created specifically for artists. Neat! I'm very pleased with how it's coming along. If you want to check out my progress, the current address is bgrell.otherpeoplespixels.com. I hope to have this new website linked to my domain name (brittanygrell.com) by the end of the week, so I'm working on all that fun stuff (the interweb can be tricky). But don't worry! In the end, my website shall still be www.brittanygrell.com. So all is good
